WordPress is a blog publishing system written in PHP and backed by a MySQLdatabase. WordPress is the official successor of b2\cafelog, developed by Michel Valdrighi. The name WordPress was suggested by Christine Selleck, a friend of lead developer Matt Mullenweg.
